CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

Human Resources in association with Fugitive Projects is currently inviting artists to submit video work for inclusion in a programme entitled "No Place". We are particularly interested in how artists address the concept of "no place" individually, culturally and politically as a way to reflect on our particular historical moment.

"No Place", as the etymological root of "utopia", takes on a double meaning when the interplay between reality and fiction manifests as the will to critique or change political or social structures. It becomes a signifier of utopian aspirations and of a pedagogy for art simultaneously. Thus, language (in this case, via the parole of contemporary art) has utopian tendencies.

Human Resources is accepting projects ranging from 30 seconds to 15 minutes in length. Please submit video work on DVD.Do not submit your only copy. If you would like your work returned to you, please include a SAE. Submissions can be sent to Human Resources, CommonPlace Studio 2, 10 Burgh Quay, Dublin 2. The deadline for submissions is Monday August 11th at 5pm. You will be notified of your submission's status no later than August 30th. Send questions and queries here
